Booking is now open for the two productions at Hampton Court Palace being produced by Schtanhaus: The Play of the Weather and A Little Neck.

John Heywood’s The Play of the Weather was originally commissioned by Henry VIII. Heywood was born in London in about 1497 and later fled to Europe to escape persecution for his Catholic faith. He was also the grandfather of the famous metaphysical poet John Donne. The production will be directed by RSC Director Gregory Thompson and is being produced as a result of a collaboration between Historic Royal Palaces and Oxford Brookes University, with funding from the Arts and Humanities Research Council. There will be two public performances on 6 and 8 August 2009. Online booking is now available via the Hampton Court Palace website.

A Little Neck is a site-specific promenade theatre experience presented by Goat and Monkey, as part of a collaboration with Historic Royal Palaces and Oxford Brookes University, with funding from the Wellcome Trust. It focuses on the relationship between Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn from January to May 1536, and looks at the role of medicine in the Queen’s downfall, centring on her second miscarriage and the ensuing political and personal fallout. Performances will be 14 September - 4 October and tickets can booked now via the Hampton Court Palace website.]]>
